The rotation has officially ended.  This means that Asgard will have to compete for class R targets with the other class R guilds in the future.  We will give this a shot for awhile and see how we do, it is going to require people to play better and be much more aware of their surroundings in the future.  There will be bad blood among the class R guilds going forward, this means that on encounters involving BDA, Taken and Divinity you should expect to be held accountable for your actions.  Specifically this means expect to get petitioned if you mess up and expect to receive a guild suspension for Asgard if you mess up royally. 

On the up side this means that if simulated repops become frequent again then we will have a larger variety of mobs to choose from.

I was wondering if there has been any progress in talks or any updates to give us peasants? 

 

I've been forum questing hardcore at work since I'm outside in ohio and have had alot of time in the truck warming up and I noticed this on page 5. Seemed much more reasonable then the original bs they tried to roll out and was just curious how this was perceived by our shot callers and the others?

It still had gatekeeper mobs that are far harder to kill, locking epic mobs behind far harder targets that they wanted to only be accessible to a guild if they can kill it at any hour of the day, solo, and within an hour. It was unacceptable to us, not because we couldn't do it, but because it would require that all class R guilds fit their play style of zerging. It would also be a massive barrier for new guilds attempting to join the rotation.

Yeah I just noticed they opened up the crummy mobs Maestro and what not instead of them hiding behind Talendor. And changed tier 4 to CT instead of Gore. Wasn't sure if that was the latest proposal or what, it just showed progress in the right direction versus their v 2.0 that for worse then 1.0. 

 

So what's the bigger sticking point to the R guilds, or us specifically the gatekeepers or the forced merger of the incapables? I haven't seen alot of specifics it seemed just flat refusals and spin from their side. Figure most of the real talk is on FAP.. I hear Europa almost had a Trak, that would have been awesome..

that proposal says that when you enter the top tier if you dont kill gorenaire solo within 2 attempts you are then locked out of the top tier for a full rotation cycle (~3 months assuming only 3 guilds in top tier).  you have to remember that they intentionally cycle you to the bottom of every possible mob so that its a minimum of 9 weeks for every mob you want to attempt assuming that you are the 4th guild entering their rotation, obviously its worse if youre not #4.  so 9 weeks to kill maestro then 9 to kill draco then 9 to kill fay... the system is set up to ensure they get as many targets as they possibly can within the next 6 months to a year, basically ensuring they keep everything out of everyones reach until velious is released or very near released.

Yeah as Pint and Amery said the main thing that did it for us was the unfairness of the gatekeeper mobs and the resulting penalties for missing a mob. It was a cynical move on their part. There are also several things absent from that proposal which were included in the former rotation agreement.

 

1) They had a "take it or leave it" attitude from almost the beginning of the discussions, particularly after they stopped trying to spin it as "we should all be prepping for velious guyz". Several times we were told aspects such as allying, dark hours, tiers were non negotiable. Things we were "allowed" to negotiate on were how strikes were earned and "MAYBE engage windows"

2) The removal of dark times. In the former rotation if a mob spawned during you're dark time, a 12 hour period outside of the guild's prime time, you could form an alliance with other guilds to get the mob down. There was no penalty on the assisting guild other than the 2 spawn lockout per server rules. This is obviously a pretty favourable arrangement for the smaller guilds and we would have been willing to compromise, but they wouldn't entertain any discussion on it.

3) Allying was another "non negotiable" sticking point. They insisted that if you ally with a guild for one mob, then you ally with a guild for all mobs. So if you had a joint spot for Gorenaire you would be allied for everything from Maestro up. They also insisted that ad hoc alliances at off hours weren't to be allowed. Again we would've been willing to come to a compromise on this but they wouldn't entertain any suggestions.

 

So they were basically changing the rotation from the co-operative enviroment that it was to a very competitive, exclusive one that very specifically favours guilds set up the way BDA and Taken are. They will insist they thought this was the best way for guilds to "grow", what that means in reality is guilds either match Taken and BDA in numbers and timezone coverage or gtfo. 7/10 of the Class R guilds thought this was unacceptable and we'd rather have contested shots at every mob than enter a completely biased system which restricts what we can kill by putting arbitrary cock blocks at the start of each tier nor do we want to be forced to grow our guilds in directions we don't want to conform to their bullshit.

BDA and Taken have always used the silent threat of "we're bigger and better than you, we can break this rotation and scoop up all them mobs anytime we want so acquiesce". Now they are enacting it because we won't toe the line.

 

tl;dr The formerly inclusive rotation made the waiting lists for mobs huge and BDA got sick of waiting and instead of raising concerns and productively trying to solve it they threw several of these proposals over a week out of the blue, gave deadlines for signing and refused to negotiate about anything meaningful and by doing so rather cynically breaking the rotation.

Its my personal belief, if unsupported, that this is exactly what they wanted, and why they pushed for unreasonable changes. They wanted the rotation to break. They wanted a FFA class R. Taken benefits from it, bda benefits from it, not sure if divinity will win or lose. The truly sad part about this whole sorted affair, is that it makes me respect Lord Bob because they at least had the balls to be honest about it.

The list really goes on, but it shows to anyone that their officer core is a joke, and as of recently are losing veteran members over it...Taken will soon to be the only threat really, but like I said...I got some tricks up my sleeve for them...LEGIT tricks...nothing sketch/shady/against p99 rule set.

 

 

Keep getting levels and resist gear folks, when April comes, I plan on attempting to make some Class R changes.

Well first, thanks you guys for the responses and clearing all that up. I'm just curious with what all has been going on, and there hasn't been much said since the implosion of the rotation, i wasn't sure if we were more against the gate keepers, or trying to protect our buddies in the smaller guilds. But i guess its all of the above, and that's cool. I don't like how thier attempting to force everyone to become them, or atleast a larger conglomerate to compete. But it basically seems that's the only choice left for everyone ( meaning besides the axis of evil..i guess you can include divinity in it since they agreed with the new proposals).. 

 

And with that said, have we had any talks on merging with any of the other brethren on the server? Obviously a /ooc guild recruitment is not going to cut it.. and you cant make the more casuals be neckbeards. Why not combine our neckbears with someone else! Mergers always suck, or usually suck. But probably is our only real shot at remaining relevant. Right? I know we play alot with Europa, they seem like a obvious good choice as well. With them being prime later in the day then every other class R guild, seems like the obvious target for any other guild trying to merge. Good folks, friendly, later timezone core..win win and win?

 

I know im relatively new still, and i hope im not overstepping my bounds. Im sure you guys have talked and thought of this already privately, i just figure if im going to have questions and ask them, rather then /tell them in game id post for all to see in case other mates are having similar questions go through their heads we can all learn from me being a nosey bastard and asking 101 questions Lol.
